Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all our members and their family and friends! As we complete a very successful year, your board and our committees are hard at work to offer our San Diego Press Club members another impressive lineup of events in 2005.

One event that you can enter on your calendar today is the San Diego Press Club Golf Tournament at the Singing Hills Country Club on Friday, March 4. Tee times begin just minutes after noon with check-in starting at 11:30 a.m.

Committee Chair JW August and his experienced committee have done their homework and have a terrific event planned, including carts and lunch for the great low price of $55. They confidently predict that you will have an excellent day of golf and guaranteed fun (at least for those that buy plenty of mulligans!). Be sure to bring your checkbook and we will also have raffle prizes! A portion of the net proceeds will be contributed to the San Diego Press Club Foundation. So come on out and have a good time with your Press Club friends while helping us raise funds for the Foundation! Reserve your foursome now if you haven't already.

I want to thank News Forum Chair Laura Walcher and her committee for the latest in a series of excellent News Forum events. If you attended one of the News Forums in 2004 then you know what I mean. Our December event featured the trials and tribulations - and the lessons learned - covering the elections. This year we are planning more timely and topical News Forums, and I urge you to make sure that you are there.
