What Becomes a Legend Most? Find Out on November 4 By Frank Saldana What's it going to be? That's what members of the Legends committee are pondering following the success of the Lionel Van Deerlin-Larry Thomas discussion last year. Committee members have nailed down the Mission Valley Resort, formerly the Mission Valley Inn, as this year's venue. The date: Saturday, November 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nancy Ray, the committee chairwoman, said the following factors were taken into consideration on selecting the resort: A central location, convenient to everyone; free parking steps away from the meeting room and bar. Plenty of space to get reacquainted with old friends. The menu will be Chicken Chardonnay, a marinated boneless chicken breast topped with a creamy Chardonnay sauce. And Nancy selected chocolate mousse for dessert. Vegetarian plates also will be available. Cost this year will be $22.50 per person. Future editions of the Foghorn will provide reader with the latest developments of the Legends' luncheon. One thing is certain -- Doug Oliver will be at the piano. Posted August 2006 |
