Quick Questionnaire - Larry Edwards

Larry Edwards is the Business Editor of San Diego Magazine.

With all due respect, how can anyone answer these questions seriously? But I'll take a stab at it.

What's your favorite place?
My maniacal alter ego, which emerges after reading 'solutions'-filled press releases.

What's your favorite movie?
Fail Safe, which Dubya must have watched but failed to comprehend.

What book has had the most impact on you?
'Grammar for Dummies,' which I'd be happy to loan to any TV newsreader or mar-comm type who asks.

Which words or phrases do you tend to overuse?
'Beats the shit out of me' (just ask my editors).

What's your addiction?
Life -- somehow, despite several attempts, I just can't seem to shake the habit.

Whose shoes would you like to walk in for a day?
Nobody's, but I can think of several I'd like to step on.

If you could have any other profession, what would it be?
Reality TV, because I can't think of a better way disassociate myself from reality.

What topic gets you the most fired up?
The word 'solutions' -- it turns me homicidal. Is there a more meaningless, empty-headed word used in marketing today?

What one hidden truth would you most like to uncover?
How Pat Robertson can keep a straight face.

What's your motto?
If it's called a 'solution,' it's not.
