San Diego Media Collaborate on Debate By John Brice In what is being called łthe largest collaborative effort in the history of San Diego media,˛ Envision San Diego will host łThe Race for Mayor,˛ a debate and community forum with mayoral candidates Donna Frye and Jerry Sanders. This live broadcast event will be held before an audience of 600 on Wednesday, November 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Theater of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center at 6845 University Avenue. It will be broadcast live on television, radio and the Internet and will continue to repeat for the week leading up to the election. This event is in two parts. The first hour (6 to 7 pm) is a debate hosted by Gloria Penner of KPBS. Candidates will field questions from Fred Blankenship of 10News, Jessica Chang of Channel 4 San Diego, Perette Godwin of KSWB TV, David Rolland of San Diego City Beat, Jeff Dillon of SignOnSanDiego.com and Andrew Donohue of Voice of San Diego The second hour (7 to 8 pm) is a community forum moderated by Hal Clement of 10News. Audience members will ask the questions. Reporters from KOGO NewsRadio 600, Progressive Talk AM 1360 KLSD, KBNT TV, and KPBS will assist. Participating media include 10News, KSWB TV, Channel 4 San Diego, KBNT TV, KPBS TV, Time Warner Cable, KOGO News Radio 600, KPBS 89.5 Progressive Talk AM 1360 KLSD, San Diego Business Journal (SDBJ.com), San Diego City Beat (SDCityBeat.com), SignOnSanDiego.com, The Daily Transcript (SDDT.com), ElPuente.org, and VoiceofSanDiego.org.
